![]() New models are being added on a regular basis. ![]() The range of guitars that is supported contains most current six–string models from the likes of Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, Guild, Taylor and Yamaha, as well as many smaller manufacturers. This means that you need to be careful to order the correct system for your guitar. While the ‘brain’ is common to all Tronical configurations, the machine heads themselves and the plate must precisely match the geometry of your headstock. The TronicalTune PLUS system keeps your guitar original. And third, there’s a black plate which sits flush against the back of the headstock, with the machine heads passing through it. Second, there’s a rectangular box adorned with LEDs, which contains the battery and the brains of the system. From the front of the headstock, these look like conventional locking tuners. First, there’s a set of motorized machine heads called PowerHeads. The Tronical Tune system consists of three main components. In about 5 seconds and 2 strums you will always be in tune or be able to change tunings on the fly. Play with TronicalTune’s possibilities and tune in to your creativity. Your guitar looks the same, feels the same, play’s the same. The TronicalTune PLUS is the right key to effective, simple tuning for your guitar. No more striking a guitar chord that causes a cringing reaction. By taking the chore of tuning off the player’s plate, your chords and notes will always sound the way they should. The TronicalTune PLUS automated tuning system is the in-harmony solution for both scenarios. It stunts enjoyment for beginners, thinking the unpleasant sound is due to a lack of skill, and it can also hamper more experienced guitar players, who perform live on stage and rely on pristine instrumental harmony with other musicians. If the system works it's great, but if one of the tuners gets blocked, then it's game over, you won't be able to play your favorite instrument.Keep your guitar sounding great and always ready to play! Nothing halts the pleasure of music quicker than an out-of-tune instrument. If I had to choose today, with the little experience I've had with this tool, I would go for classic and manual tuners, given their fragility and price! But finding the tuners for this system is a job in itself and I'm still not done! So, replacing the tuner in question poses not a problem, because they can all be taken off independently. I play open tunings a lot, so I use the tuners quite a bit, but this product is made for that, isn't it? I haven't had the time to change strings. But that's not all, twice I've had a tuner blocked while simply tuning. The second point is more important: The tuners are very fragile, so you need be careful when you change strings. I didn't know this product, but I found it really useful at first.įirst point: In terms of tuning, it's better if you tune two times, because the first time it's not that precise, even if it's not bad. I got it as a family present this last July. ![]() It came installed from factory on my Gibson Sg Standard. ![]()

![]() Although in its promotional materials, Apple leans a little more heavily into promoting the gaming chops of the M2 chips. Overall, I appreciate how you can get similar performance in either a desktop or laptop by choosing the same chip/RAM combo, making for easier comparison shopping but note that the desktops and larger laptops have some inherent thermal advantage with better cooling that can add a small performance boost. Apple's well-marked strata of chip versions generally tells you what to expect once you figure out the language, but it can still be tricky. The Mini and Air with M2 chips outperformed their predecessors with M1 chips, and similarly, the M2 Pro systems beat the M1 Pro systems. Generally, the Mac Studio desktop with the M1 Max chip from 2022 is the overall most powerful Mac we've tested – in situations where it has the most cores. In our benchmark tests, the different levels of M1 and M2 chip performance are also clear, in part because the CPU and GPU core counts and clock frequencies have risen generation-over-generation. I would definitely use it as an editing machine." Color correction didn't seem to be an issue. I could move easily around the timeline without any delay. I could preview the video at full resolution and only had some minor stuttering when I hit the graphics. In that case, he said, "That one felt almost flawless. Then he tried the same project on the M2 Pro version, which had 16GB of RAM. I asked one of my team's video editors to throw a decently chunky Premiere Pro project on both the M2 and M2 Pro versions of the Mac Mini.īlack Magic (Disk drive read and write test in MB/s) As expected, I had no problems, even running multiple sound-shaping plugins (although for a very basic task like this, a standard budget Windows machine could do the same). I recorded some video voice-over on the Mac Mini for this review, using Audacity and an external mic. That's an area where dedicated computers are in danger of becoming obsolete, as popular new platforms like TikTok are built around shooting and editing directly from your phone.īut as an occasional social media poster, and podcast guest and host, over the years, there's still no comparison between even advanced phone-based editing and using something like Final Cut or Premiere Pro on a desktop or laptop to produce your creator content, even if it'll eventually end up as a small vertical social video.Īnd especially for audio, the Mac Mini still feels like an excellent all-around solution. That could mean a small to midsize recording studio for music and voice-overs, or a home office setup for audio or video podcasts. And that system, even without an M2 update, is still more powerful in many cases than the new Mac Mini, which only goes up to an M2 Pro. ![]() ![]() Since then, the Mac Studio from early 2022 offered a bigger, more powerful take on the small-form-factor Apple desktop, with M1 Max and M1 Ultra chips. They included the MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro and the Mac Mini, each with the original M1 chip. That was in fall 2020, when the very first Apple Silicon products were released. The last time I tested a new Mac Mini was the last time there was a new Mac Mini. Especially if you have your own display and maybe your own keyboard/mouse setup, the Mac Mini gets you all the advantages of MacOS, and its speciality chops in design, audio production, and photo and video editing, for a lot less. As a long-time Mac reviewer, the relative affordability of the Mini line is still one of its most important selling points. ![]() ![]() ![]() Discover our growing collection of curated stories on Technology. ![]() Get the latest articles, videos, and news about Technology on Flipboard. There are some Key lime pie afficionados in Florida who insist that meringue is the only topping for a Key lime pie but considering the history of the pie, I have a difficult time believing that someone hand whipped a meringue in the middle of a humid summer and had much success.īesides, I prefer the balance of cool whipped cream with a hint of zest for garnish. I subbed out a bit of the lime juice for lemon juice though that mixture works beautifully for my favorite Fresh Margarita so I went the same direction and this pie was fabulous. I find the difference so minimal and I personally love the tartness so do a quick taste test of the filling before deciding more sugar is necessary. Supposedly Key limes are a bit sweeter than Persian limes and you might be tempted to balance that change with more sugar. Lime juice is not green without food coloring I kept this pie au natural and then garnished it with a bit of green. I don’t think the difference supports the need to find them and spend so much time juicing them if there is any difference at all.Īlso don’t expect the green you might have seen in prepared pies. To be honest? Don’t be like Barb I wanted to do it and now that I have I’m going to recommend you use the standard grocery store variety Persian limes. It took about thirty of those little buggars to get the amount of juice I needed! Use an electric juicer and that little baby lime just barely fit around the part that is supposed to burrow into the flesh of the fruit. Not surprising, because they are so small, I’ve found that when I do decide to use them that I had better be ready to juice them that day they dry out very quickly. ![]() Some people might be lucky enough to have a real Key lime tree in their backyard but for the most part, the limes now labeled as Key limes that you find at the local grocery have come from either California or Mexico and are often rock hard. Hard as a rock and no longer photogenic so I’ve borrowed am image from someone else! Photo by Vicki Wasik for Serious Eatsįirst and foremost, the original Key lime trees were decimated by a hurricane in the Florida Keys in 1926 and as the islands recovered, people resorted to planting the sturdier Persian limes most of us know. I found them this weekend in the laundry room oh snap…yes I did go to change out the laundry on the way to my studio and put them on a shelf and forgot them so, well, the rest is history. I think the first question asked of me when I mentioned I was going to make this pie is, “What exactly are Key limes and how are they different from ‘regular’ or Persian limes?” I was going to take a photo and show you but ahem, I misplaced the limes I had planned to use for the photo. ![]() ![]() ![]() “But if you’re calling in an area where there’s a mature buck, he’s probably had a good dose of hunters calling to him. “A lot of people will tell you that deer are call-shy in certain areas, and I don’t completely disagree with that statement,” Ferenbaugh says. In the video below, Ferenbaugh demonstrates how realism makes calling more effective, when a buck charges within ten yards of his setup. Because he’s hunting from the ground, he’s able to create a more realistic calling scenario than hunting from a tree allows. His rationale behind making the scrape is that it’s a sound deer make just as much as they do other vocalizations. But I pretty much make a scrape every time I’m in the woods.” This is why I love the Intimidator, because the calls it makes are so similar to the deer sounds I actually hear in the woods. If I haven’t, I’ll rake the leaves again, pair it with a few grunts, a snort wheeze. I’ll stop after that initial scrape and make sure I haven’t called anything in. “So, I’ll start raking back the leaves and stomping like a buck does when he makes a scrape, and that’s my initial call. “While I’m setting up, I’ll mimic a buck making a scrape,” Ferenbaugh says. However, his first call actually has nothing to do with the Intimidator. These subtle grunts are easy to make because the reeds on this call don’t require a ton of airflow to produce quality sounds. The Intimidator’s sound quality works great when he’s close to a buck’s bed, because Ferenbaugh can make extremely subtle, realistic grunts without overdoing the volume. If he feels confident in his setup, which involves tucking into some ground cover, Ferenbaugh tries to mimic a buck approaching another buck’s bedding area. The predominant wind makes the buck think he has the wind in his favor, but that thermal pull, as long as you’re set up correctly, draws it away from him.” But the best scenario when you’re blind calling is to set up where you have a predominant wind and a thermal pull that create the perfect wind scenario. A lot of times I’ll put super thick vegetation between me and where I want the deer to come. “But setup is the key in these situations. “I blind call quite a bit actually,” Ferenbaugh says. While some hunters might be hesitant to blind call, Ferenbaugh relishes it, especially if he thinks he’s near a bedded buck. But if you’re hunting from the ground, there’s a chance you can tuck into some cover or even anticipate a deer trying to get downwind of you, Ferenbaugh says. Other than the fact that deer don’t typically hang out in trees, this setup can leave you exposed or vulnerable to a whitetail if he decides to circle downwind of you. One of the biggest pitfalls with deer calling is that most of the time hunters are posted 12-20 feet in the best tree stands with minimal cover. If you look at our videos, this call is literally tied to my vest all season long.” “I can be as subtle as I need, or I can crank up the volume if I need to grab a deer’s attention, even if he’s 100 yards away. “I’ve used a lot of calls over the years, but this is by far my favorite,” Ferenbaugh says. When it comes to calls, he prefers WoodHaven’s Intimidator. And that same ground game gives him an edge when he’s calling deer as well. The Hunting Public’s Zach Ferenbaugh earns a living killing big bucks from the ground with aggressive tactics. ![]() Flexible grunt tube allows you to dial in the volume. And the WoodHaven Intimidator allows him to make the softest or loudest grunts whether he’s hunting on the edge of a buck bed or 100 yards away. Still, deer calls have fooled enough big bucks to earn a spot in your pack. And if you’re calling blind, they’ll probably give you the slip without ever letting you know it. That’s not to say that a rut-crazed buck won’t throw all caution to the wind and come crashing under your stand, but that’s rarely the case. You can sometimes even call them-ever so cautiously-into range. But when used strategically, they can grab a deer’s attention. Deer calls won’t guarantee you that a Booner will run into your setup. ![]() |
